Donation to Red Cross for Covid-19

Two months have passed since our Facet Music 2020 Calgary Chinese New Year concert.

After all the twists and turns, on April 8th we finally fulfilled our promise — donating half of the concert ’s box office income of $3500 to the Red Cross Calgary Covid-19 rescue project.

We hope we can all get through this special time safely!

Our Chinese New Year show also features FOONYAP, an artist described by CBC Music as “a lush, weird and intoxicating blend of electro-opera meets experimental pop”.
Have you ever heard of the double-reed Chinese horn, the suona? The concert features a master of the instrument, Wu Zhongxi from China, who will perform one of the Chinese classics: “Song of the Phoenix”, with Calgary Chinese Orchestra.
We proudly present PEP (Piano and Erhu Project) from Vancouver. Pianist Cory Hamm and Erhuist Nicole Ge Li make up the virtuosic duo which has been a cross-cultural phenomenon in western Canada.
Dear friends, as you know, there is a coronavirus outbreak in China in the midst of the country’s biggest celebration, Chinese New Year. We all feel this tragedy deeply and want to help our brothers and sisters in China in their time of need.
